I could take 4 of Span. then 4 of French or 2 of Spanish and 6 of French. I dunno because they are both Latin based languages. I am an American who would like to move to either Europe or Africa so French just seems more logical then Spanish

They are both Latin based as you say and some of the words are so similar its easy. I studied french for four years and spoke it rather well and then I began to learn Spanish. The problem I noted with myself was sometimes because the words were similar I would use the french word when I was speaking Spanish or the other way around.
I think French is a prettier language, myself.
Good Luck

If you want to learn French more than Spanish then I think that 2 and 6 would be good, if you can speak Spanish then you can pick up French pretty easily, Spanish is like 90 percent Latin, and French is like 80 percent, I know Spanish and I can read and understand some basic French, but I hear French is a bit harder because of the accents and French nasal vowels and such.

If you are taking up both French and Spanish make sure you work extra hard on your french.

You will be judged around the world by the way you speak French. If your accent and grammer is terrible you will be judged in a not so kind manner. Bad spanish is somewhat ok, but bad French is never OK.

it does make more sense to learn french if you want to go to africa or europe but spanish is spoken in europe as well
the ideal option is to learn both, so take spanish first because its harder then with that under your belt french will be easier for you both languages have similar grammar structure
its like learning to drive standand or stick then switching to automatic
so yea the 2 and 6 option sounds good

I know Italian, Spanish, and French. Coming from Spanish, take Italian.

Spanish is far less annoying, yet French isn't too hard in my opinion. Grammar and vocabulary are comparable. except you reside in a community with a severe volume of Spanish audio equipment, learn French. that is much less well-known and sounds surprising. that's straightforward to word French to existence. i do no longer understand in Spanish: Yo no se. French: Je non sais. those words sound basically approximately precisely an identical in the two languages. considered one of countless examples of the similarities. The "no se" and "non sais" are basically approximately indistinguishable different than for accessory.

Italian might be easier than French, since you have already studied Spanish.

spanish to italian is best as they are VERY similar & most natives in either of these two dont get insulted when you mess up. french most of the time you need to be very accurate in how/what you say.
