Christianity.
In a few decades that will most likely change.

I see that you have many different opinions showing up in your answers.
Opinions are great , but truth from the Bible is best.
So what does it say on the matter.
The Bible says that 'the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.'
The wicked one is Gods enemy - Satan.
Satan , being the ruler of this filthy world , has set up a world empire of false religion.
This is known as Babylon the Great in the Bible book of Revelation.
It is comprised of ALL religions that do not adhere to the righteous standards of God as written in the Bible.
The Bible says in Matthew 7:13,14 ¨Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going through it, whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.¨
When comparing all of the related scriptures we see that the decision on what religion is best that the majority of people will make will be wrong, and it will lead to their destruction.
So seeing the large size of some religions should be an indicator of them NOT pleasing God , , but rather it is a clear sign that they are indeed following his enemy Satan.
If you genuinely want to know what the Bible really teaches , and find the way that pleases God , then feel free to email me for more information.

I wonder if those who answered "Christianity" above me, consider Roman Catholics to be true Christians - since they are the predominant religious sect on this planet.

If you count roman catholics and all the different sects that believe Jesus as savior, then christianity.
Otherwise, islam (shiite) is larger compared individual christian sects.

severe Troll is right. provided which you group each little thing jointly that calls itself "Christian", might you be waiting to declare that. actual, that's below a million% of all professing "Christian" religions that extremely rightly divide God's be conscious, and understand the forte and the religious authority of the apostle Paul's doctrine and gospel. ninety 9% of those church homes that declare to persist with the Lord Jesus attempt to persist with His teachings to Israel, which require adherence to the regulation of Moses, to boot as faith in Him as Christ. below a million% of all who declare "Christian" as their faith are actual Christian in doctrine and perception. something are a perversion of Judaism and Christianity. the two have been in no way meant to be blended.
