it's more complicated than that.
Mexicans are not easily able to vacation in the United States. First, they must have a passport. Second, they must prove that they have enough money for a "vacation" in the USA. Third, they most prove that there is no "risk" of fleeing their allotted stay.
Why do most illegals jump the border illegally? because the Mexicans that live comfortably in Mexico don't need to come to America for a "better" life!!!!!!

Oh yes.... when they come here.. they get visa for a day or two... or even work visa.. but never return back to mexico.. they slowly sneak up to the northern states.. usually find someone selling a fake ID or visa and they are on their way.. or they come to states while pregnant and 'all of a sudden" they are in labor.. baby born and automatically a citizen of USA...so why should they be allowed to come to USA on 'vacation'? If they want to come to USA they need to follow legal process and pay the dues....

Your question seems very inocent to me.
I am mexican, I have no problem going to USA on vacation or in bussines because I have my pasport and the visa that US government gave me (wich last ten years). I do have properties and bussines in Mexico, I do live here as well as if I were living in US. I am not interested on going to US to live, perhaps I would go there to make a bussines (probably to BUY something from there, to leave money to you). Of course, I had to demonstrate to the embassy all of this. And, since I am not intersted in living or work in US, that is the reason I can go there on vacation.
But the guys are leaving Mexico and going to US illegaly just DON'T have visa. They are poors. They can not go to US on vacation. And those that can are not interested in work there (mostly, of course there are exceptions).

Carol is right. Whoever gave her thumbs down doesn't know anything. In order to get a visitor's visa, you have to own property in Mexico. That assures the U.S. government that you will go back there. So, those that come as illegals are the poorest of the poor, the people who have nothing. So, yes, they can vacation in the U.S., but they have to own property.
Some Mexicans do also come on a visitor's visa and work. Those are the ones who stay for a week and then go back to Mexico on the weekend. I know a man that does that.

Yes they are allowed but unfortunately its that they don't can't prove they own property to go back and a majority of them don't want to. I'm tired of the U.S having to deal with this problem,, its Mexico's problem and they are the ones that treat that can't take care of thier own citizens..NOT the U.S.. so why does everyone hate the us. its your own country that should be at fault...AMEN

Once again it depends on money. If you are mexican and you have a certian amount of money or own a certain amount of property they will let you come over and vacation as long as you can prove that. That shows to them that you have no reason to want to come and stay in america so they will give you the tourist visa.
