Wow, there are a bunch of ways to take people down. The martial art with perhaps the most extensive takedowns is Judo. You might go to a bookstore and find a book with Judo takedown images and instructions.

Obviously, I have to qualify that with the usual: physical confrontations should be avoided. Using Judo can lead to injuries and should be learned from a qualified instructor.

i was in the military but the easiest way that i know of to take a person down is a sucker move that i learned in high school wrestling. we called it a head and arm and i have taken people twice my size down with it.

standing facing each other
with your left arm grab their left elbow
with your right arm hook their head
get a base with your left foot
twist your body, bringing their elbow and head long with you, to the left
then trip them with your right foot as you are twisting them

*this is an easy move but still requires some practice. if you dont do it right you could end up on the bottom once you fall or your opponent can escapse or push you or tripe you.

if you do it right though its pretty much guaranteed to take someone down who didnt ACTUALLY wreslte in high school

Check out wrestling videos, Real wrestling, not the WWE kind. Single legs takedowns prolly work best.

i don't really have any but "The Prodigy" B.J. Penn is a master at stuff like that. actual wrestlers, not WWE type, are really good at it too.

B.J. Penn has a website, just search "B.J. Penn"
