Generally speaking, how are atheists treated in other countries? Is there a country in which atheists are not so much of a minority?

I'm not treated any different neither is 85% of the Australian population. I and the other 100% of the Australian population fully respects anyone who is religious or decides to join a religion or a religious cult being it's there own personal decision to do so.
Australian people are all friendly, down to earth and very open minded, and nonjudgmental, materialistic or phobic towards a persons race, color, religion or sexual preference. Australians live in a free society with a large multicultural population which makes this country great. I go to work seven day's a week, pay my rent and bills, go to the gym and I'm actively involved in team sport, watch tv, surf the net. Acquaintances, friends, and people I meet I respect them just as they respect me. Ive never been hateful , jealous or unfriendly towards people or break the law. Why should I or anyone else who doesn't share the way you live your life or beliefs in your religion be treated differently as a person. I wouldn't treat you any differently to how I treat and respect any other person. No one else living in Australia would either be judgmental toward you or disrespect your religious beliefs.

It is hard to say how any group of people is treated in any country. I do not think they are treated any differently than anyone else. At least, I don't treat them any differently. Of course, I do not go around asking if anyone is an atheist.

The communist countries were all atheist. The leaders in those countries tried to rid their countries of God. They taught the children in school that there was no God. Of course, they did not manage to rid their countries of God, since the people all worshiped privately, in their homes. They taught their children to hid their religion from everyone else, so that they would not be arrested.

I suggest a solution----------????
Atheist should organize a meeting and select their leader first. Make few rules to be followed religiously. Confer some name to the group and get-together regularly in cities all over the world. This is how all the religion came into being.

(Kind of old info, but...)

According to the 1994 World Almanac , there are:

161 million atheists in Asia

56 million atheists in the former USSR

18 million atheists in Europe

3.2 million atheists in Latin America

1.3 million atheists in North America

.5 million atheists in Oceania

.3 million atheists in Africa(11)

for an approximate total of 240.3 million atheists in the world.
