How many of you racing fans think that the Big One will happen this year at Talladega with the COT, and if you do, what point in the race do you think it will be and how many cars will be involved?

One thing is for sure these cars react differently. Remember Bristol, Usually a wreck fest, but not with the COT. Of all the thing we have learned from the previous COT races the biggest thing is the cars are much more resistant to damage from contact so the bump draft will be in full effect and more cars are likely to finish on the lead lap. Although the cars have proven to be hard to turn on the smaller tracks I think that at Talladega that will not make too much of a difference. Set-up's on the cars will be crucial. I hope that the teams learned allot from the testing there a few weeks ago. I look forward to seeing the race and seeing what develops. Like the COT or not it's here to stay and it will be interesting to see the teams adapt to it.

I am curious if the cars will get airborne when they spin backwards. I think they will be more stable. So knowing that it will be hard to say if and when there will be a big one. I would expect that the big one will more than likely happen earlier in the race. The reason why is because if they seem more stable at high speeds then the drivers may take a little more chances especially in the curves. That could be dangerous and once in the curves they would collect a lot of cars and chasers. I predict it about 1/3 of the way into the race.

I definitely think it will be towards the middle wouldnt be surprised it that new rookie guy started it, as this is his Cup debut, a few chasers will be involved. Doubtful the big names like Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, and Jimmie Johnson will be involved but anything can happen. I think that it will involved quite a few cars but more then likely all the chasers will be towards the front and the big one starts in the middle of the pack. The only way Chasers could get involved is the someone leaving them out of th draft which will be big this year and right after pit stops. I love the drafting at Talladega and I still think that even though the COT is boxier that the big one will still happen and I think Jeff Gordon will do a repeat. Go #24!!!!

I think everyone is expecting a ton of big one's at 'dega, there will probably be a bunch of minor incidents...But I think the big one will happen close to the finish less than 25 laps atleast 3-5 chasers will be in it... As long as no drivers are injured, I'm fine with that.. Its Talladega, and normally something happens......Lets have a great and safe race boys..
Go Dale Jr Go..

dude have you been to dega...there has been one instance where i went and there wasn't a big one, and i have been going for years. Usually the big one happens when 3/4 of the race has been run, and there have been a couple of times when it occurred with 8-15 laps to go(RED FLAG!) Most times 10-15 cars get swallowed up in the big wreck! somtimes more, sometimes less...but it is awesome when it happens in front of you and you get to smell the burnt rubber from the tires locking up! I dont know about cars flipping, I had seats on the backstretch a few years ago when Elliot Sadler flipped his M&Ms car(C.O.Y), which the race was red flagged with 30 or so laps to go

Oooh. I have a feeling there may be quite a few wrecks. Juan Pablo Montoya may cause one. (Sorry Montoya fans). Also, another Formula driver is making his debut at Dega. And with this being a Chase Race, I suspect it will get pretty hairy towards the end. I will be in the infield at Turn 2. Have seen some pretty big ones right there.

I'm thinking there will be a Big One at Talladega, but not real sure at what point. You never can tell with NASCAR. I was a member of Michael Waltrip's live audience on his XM Radio show on Monday night and he believes there will be BIG ONE at Talladega too!

HMMMMM......Well im gonna say i dont think that it will happen this time....im sure there will be wrecks but small one's nothing to major.....i think with the fact that it's their first time running the COT (besides practice runs a few weeks ago) at Talladega, the restrictor plate, and the reality of not knowing what to expect with the cars everyone will be alittle more cautious!!!! im not saying they arent gonna be racin hard...im just saying they arent gonna be racin it like they usually do at the Super Speedway....know what i mean???
GO HARVICK & RCR!!!
