Personally, I do not want to find dates on the Internet. I would still rather meet the old fashioned way- bar/lounge, restaurant, mall, afterwork party, whatever. How do you feel when it comes to dating?

For me, it's about the stigma that is attached to it. Honestly, I would be embarrassed to go to my family/friends and say I met my boyfriend/husband off the Internet. They are "old school" and would no doubt wonder what's wrong that I can't find a man in a "normal way." Those opinions are extreme but I kind of agree in a way. I don't date online nor have I had bad experiences trying it out. I just feel that it is impersonal- like the way our society has become. With thre advent of the Internet, you can do everything from your living room without having to actually interact with other breathing humans. People don't really value those .

There is nothing wrong with meeting people on the internet, as long as you use common sense, and take the time to make sure people are "real" before you meet them.

I met my other half on line. I wasn't even looking at the time. it's funny how things happen, when they are ment to...

Cheers :-)

I don't see anything too bad about meeting people online, as long as the relationship doesn't remain an online relationship.
Men who go on sites just to find a hot girl don't really impress me either.

when it comes down to it is there really that much of a difference??? ---- people lie about themselves in both situations and you still need to get to know them --- i have found with online that you can get to know the person before you meet them --- if they have been lying you will never meet ---- and it can be a lot safer than other places --- with online you meet in a controlled situation --- i have not been very good at face to face --- i dont like most of those places to meet ---- and i have found some wonderful people plus i found my lady --- without online we would never have met ---- best wishes

I have tried it. It doesn't work out. Most turn out to be cheaters who have someone in their lives. And use the on line dating to kill the boredom. They continue with whoever they are with or married to. And feed the person on line a bunch of lies. I agree that it's best to date people one has met in person from the beginning.

online dating is fine, its actually a great way to meet people and you will be able to chat more freely, maybe you can ask the person a question online that you would be to shy to ask them in person,if your a shy person
