sry, but i agree w/ your neighbor.
my dad raised me 2 believe that when God gave us the Sabbath 2 REST, He meant 4 us 2 rest from EVERYTHING that you would normally do every other day. youre supposed 2 give the day to Him. how are u giving the day to Him if youre playing a game-considering the idea that its theme is nothing to do w/ God? (you never said anything about it having a Christian theme, u only said u played the game)
lots of ppl base their games on Bible stories (if theyre playing the game on the Sabbath), & stuff.just like how manufacturers have created games like monopoly/game of life, etc. on tv. characters(simpsons monopoly 4 instance) unless your game of bingo has a Biblical theme-while maybe even teaching u something in the Bible @ the same time, then im afraid ive gotta back your neighbor up.
BTW, i havent the slightest clue how u could think it has anything 2 do w/ Church. unless it has a Biblical theme to it, im afraid u sound more like an unreligious person calling it "Church". even W/ a Biblical theme, its just plain & simply not Church. im sry. youre not learning anything from it like u would if u attended Church & got the Word of God from the preacher.
i apologize 4 rambling on so much.

Depending on your religious beliefs, it is either OK to play Bingo on Sunday, or it is not OK. My church teaches that Bingo is a form of gambling, so therefore it is not OK on any day of the week.
Now, as to saying it is the same as attending Sunday services, NO, it is not the same. Playing Bingo does not qualify as a religious meeting.

Agnes needs to understand she does not keep the sabbath, regardless of bingo.
You need to understand what church means in the proper context.

Neither of you are right. First, Christians are not told to keep Saturday, the sabbath. Second, gambling is no part of the church of the Bible. Therefore, if you are speaking as a Christian, you are both wrong.

Being at church is not the same as attending mass. Generally, people do not praise God at Bingo :)

Well, since 'church' is derived from the Bible word for 'assembly', and bingo is an assembly of people, yeah, it's a kind of church -- a church of worshipers of Mammon (money).

Well... it doesn't count as Church. But you can still play bingo on Sundays. 'Cause I don't see why not. But you should still go to Church, too.
