any thing that is burning with an open flame is producing carbon monoxide, and can kill you, there's no reversing carbon monoxide poisoning, the air is being used up, and needs to be replaced,
like opening a window, the scents can make your eyes burn and cause nasal problems, besides being a fire hazard, if she causes a fire you will be held responsible for damages to others,

Candles are not going to kill you. They are used to create atmosphere and what little scent they give off is only enough to make you feel better not be toxic. Your wife is doing nothing wrong unless the candles are unattended and you have animals or children that could upset them to create a fire. You must have other crosses to bear but candles shouldn't be one of them.

Burning the candles in itself is not harmful- BUT Lighting one in the bathroom and leaving it IS DANGEROUS. Especially if you have small children or pets. MY advice is this- have her light candles IN the fireplace. That way you can vent out some of the odor, and she can have the lovely little firestarters around.

all that scent goes into your lungs and is not really very good for you. It also leaves residue on the walls. It wont use up all your oxygine because it is simply not enough fire but its disgusting to have thick fake fragrence clouding the air all the time.
