To tell you the truth, I think there needs to be a law that the National Anthem can only be played/sang a certain way, with a certain tempo, with certain notes. I hate the way some of these so called "professional recording artists" put their own "spin" on the National Anthem. The National Anthem is supposed to be a solemn, dignified song that REPRESENTS OUR COUNTRY, not their idea of how to screw up our song. Not only that, but an honest 1/3 of the one's I've seen this year didn't sing the song correctly. Some replaced words, and made it sound as though it was supposed to be that way, and the others either hit the wrong notes, or just totally messed up the entire song. Come on people, take some pride in your country!!

I don't even know where they find these people. Where are the American Idols? I'm hoping that taylor Hicks sings the national anthem this weekend. Like him or not, he takes pride in what he sings, and he can really get down with it.
The past 5 Anthems being sung, I haven't had a clue who the people were, and they didn't do a great job, either.
This is supposed to be the Chase; the "PLAYOFFS". More people are supposed to be watching. My friend got into NASCAR around this time last year. Having someone well-known represent the National Anthem, I think, would bring better revenue. It's obviously not the main course, but it's an attraction, and sets the mood for the following race or ANY event!
I'm not even THAT patriotic, and I agree that we need better people. The ones lately just do NOT do justice.
Thank you for your time.

Wow. This is a borderline useless dysfunctional ranting post because so far the actual "recording artist" is not named (not even by the question asker) and I'm sure no one here has actually sang the national anthem in front of a crowd much less can even sing!
What is wrong with all of you people?

I think that they should use some local kids from the area as they would actually practice and usually the ones that the sporting events people use that I've seen are really really good for their age and they are the future of our country and I just think that would be better and you wouldnt have to spend millions of dollars paying them to sing the song. Also, you wouldnt have to worry about someone being hung over like one of the singers last year was. I thought that was totally horrible.

Actually our national anthem has not been sung about our motherland Bharath It was written when a Bristish Head visited our country, in his praise If you clearly notice the lyrics , you can easily understand that it has been sung about a male and not about a female, that is our motherland Now that song is being used by us, thats all

Yeah, someone forgot the words a couple of weeks ago too. Do these people not practice before they go out there?
