Around a week ago, the doc switched my dose from 20 mg to 15 mg of adderall. I don't feel like the drug is doing much, but I can't tell if this would really make a difference. I used to take 30 mg XR, but I think it effected my sleeping patterns. I would like to know the effective dosage that someone my age and weight would take. Thanks.

If you don't think your doctor is giving you the right dosage of your medication, then you should go to another doctor for a second opinion. You should never change the dosage of a medication without first asking your doctor.

Get a better doctor. 1st of all, you don't need to be on drugs. Learn to divert your attention & occupy your time doing something like athletics, kick boxing, or karate will teach you to adapt & control yourself, so will yoga. Read more about changing your diet. Take control of your life! So many people are medicating themselves instead of governing themselves. It's not cool when any drug, legal or not dictates who & what you are. Just with you asking this question I know that you're much more intelligent than what your parents or doctor think you are. It's not your fault, your parents should not had taken the easy road in trying to raise you, but now you're a young adult and it's time that you take control of your mind & body. You can do it! You can function without self medicating! No excuses! Educate yourself!

any change in meds may take weeks to have a full effect, not one week
