He has the right to "shoot a horrible look", he was shocked; your friend has the right to breast feed, especially with a blanket. However, if you friend did it correctly, the other patron would not have noticed. And a "look" cannot and should not be controlled by the booby police...you.

I think it is a very natural and very beautiful thing to do, however, not something to do in public. I have nothing against it, but when you have a baby that is very little you know that there are certain places you just can't go to. Specially a restaurant. I know that this was done discretely, but that doesn't stop people from getting Ideas specially men. Even if they don't get to see anything past the blanket. You know what is going on.

I nursed for over two years (between two children), and never enjoyed doing it in public, but there's something humiliating and unsanitary about sitting in a bathroom stall with your child, while s/he eats. Just because we produce milk, we are not cows~we should not be made to feel so.
We do what we have to do. If those people who are not involved and not knowledgeable choose to be offended, then that's fine, but I never chose to let them bother me. After all, I bet they'd be far more annoyed by a hungry, screaming child.
Thank you for your discretion...this is, however, the health of a baby we're discussing, and, while always discrete myself, I always chose the baby as my highest consideration. I'm glad others do, as well.

Breast feeding is a normal and natural way to nurture your baby. There are some people who feel that it is not appropriate, but if you have a blanket and are discreet as you say you are, you are perfectly right in doing this. Never mind the naysayers. It is such a blessing to be able to breastfeed and for those who disapprove, ignorance is no excuse. Enjoy this experience .

So long as no one can see what is happening, then it is fine. The only concern I have about breastfeeding in public is that some women have no qualms about others seeing her nipples while she is nursing, and that is just wrong.

I think that the baby needs to eat when he is hungry. What you described was very discreet and people need to mind their own business.

Everyone else is eating, why shouldn't the baby as well? The baby cannot help needing to eat and mother's mile is the best possible food. i am 100% in favor of it.
As for the idiots who are offended, I fint THEM offensive so it all evens out.

Well, if it is done as tasteful as possible, I would not have a problem with it, but there are going to be people who feel that is it unacceptable. Just ignore them.

I agree; if it's done discreetly, then no problem. For those who shoot dirty looks at a mom feeding her child, they need to get a life.

If mother isn't exposing her boobies than there's nothing wrong with it. Baby has to eat too.
