if you get one, make sure you have a place where it can run and get exercise. they have sooooo much energy and they are tough. if you have a short temper towards dogs though, i wouldn't recommend getting one. they are hard headed somtimes. the love attention though. one time we had one it he chased cars. well one day he got hit by a car by two of the wheeles. he got right back up and started chasing the car again! that goes to show how hard headed they are. lol.

They are great breed of dog, but not for everyone. I see a lot of them at the dog park, and have an endless supply of energy. They are very smart, and truly wonderful. When are +++…. The kings. My dog playes with them.
They are terriers which mean Terries. I love terrier and would not have anything else. “The dog did this today heee” & other people would say, “I kill that dog.” Our’s is mild to a Jack Russel.
There is nothing worst people making the wrong choice. It breaks my heart when people do. As with people, looks are not everything. I want you to succeed in you choice.

They are highly misunderstood dogs. They're great because they're pretty small and cute and usually short haired. However, most people only get that far. They are a very active breed. More importantly, they are very very intelligent. People think they're great because of their size without realizing how much it takes to keep these dogs happy. They constantly want for things to do and learn. So a lot of people end up complaining about, or worse, surrendering, "hyper, destructive" jack russels. They take a lot of time and owner involvement. They need training, in that they need things to do. Lots of tricks and even agility. Long walks so they get to sniff all around and occupy their minds...
Yeah, they're awesome! Every single breed has qualities that make it great. Just realize what you're getting into.

I have one and he is the smartest, most lovable, most energetic dog I have ever met. What everyone is saying is sooo true, he needs to be entertained constantly, and can't be left alone around shoes(no self control). Also, he sheds like mad! That's the only bad thing about him. He loves to cuddle, and insists on being involved in all activities, and in general is a great pup. Just be sure to adopt one, and make sure you have time for him, cause he'll needs lots of love!

They are very active, there was an 11 yr old JRT at a dock diving event I was at with my dog a few weeks ago. That dog was so active & so much wanted that tennis ball, he jumped 6 feet, & he is new at dock diving. If you want a JRT PLEASE consider adopting one, there are so many on petfinder.com & they need homes. There are puppies to adults. A JRT can live till 20+ so a 10 yr old is not old. Remember there is an 11 yr old active one dock diving. Good luck, Debbie & her fur boys sam & Ace

No. They're the best dogs ever!
But they are very active and very smart. You have to have a lot of time, patience and energy to own one. If you don't train them and keep them busy, they can be destructive and noisy little pests.

Yes, but only if you can exercise them and give them something to do, as they are VERY active, energetic dogs. They are great little dogs though.
