I just want to know if vehicle registration in anyway is related to driver's license. I have a car registered in IL but my driving license is from Iowa. I live in the IL/IA border. But Illinois state requirement is to change the license if I reside over 90 days (it has far exceeded). I am going to sell my car and live back in Iowa. Since I didn't convert my license to IL license, will I have a problem while selling my car?

Carfax has records regarding vehicles, not drivers. Drivers records are confidential and would never be available to the public through CarFax or Vehix or other vehicle service companies. The sale of the vehicle should not be effected by this issue, but I'm surprised you were able to tab/register the car with an out of state license. Maybe in your area the agent was a little more lenient, lucky for you!

Carfax tells you the vehicles history - based on the vehicle identification number.

Your Motor Vehicle record would show points on your license/traffic violations.

Your CLUE report is used by insurance companies - it will show claims that you have been involved in.
