I have blackheads ALL OVER MY NOSE. Blackheads seriously cover every inch of my nose. I usually just ignore them but I pop them every two weeks or so. I don't like popping them though since it leaves red scars all over my nose and the blackheads come back in 1-2 weeks and the cycle begins all over again. I would go to a spa to get them all squeezed out but im worried that it's just going to leave me with a ton of red scars. Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

The suggestions already posted are great so I won't repeat them - I use the Biore nose strip once in a while, maybe that will work for you. Another thing I use is really inexpensive, it's the Queen Helene Clay Mask - I don't know how it works, but if you rub it into your nose, let it dry, then rinse it off, it might do what it does for me - suck out all the blackheads! Something about the natural clay absorbing all the oil, who knows. Anyway, that's a good one to try.
I'm not a dermatologist but I would also recommend Proactiv - it seems to disable the glands that produce the excess oil on your face. Also, the clogged pores turn black from dirt, so daily exfoliation and cleansing, maybe 3 times a day, will probably help. You can exfoliate with a ton of different products, just pick a reasonably gentle one because you should do it every day so the excess dead skin and oil don't build up in your pores. My favorite exfoliant is actually Pretty Feet & Hands - it works wonders on the face - but don't use it more than once a week. A daily facial scrub, something cheap, should work for every morning and night. I'm also a big fan of Biore facial cleansers - not so much the warming blackhead cleanser but I love the Pore Minimizing Foaming Face Wash. I use it every morning and night and it doesn't dry out my skin. It's pretty cheap - worth a shot.

Good luck!!!

Like you, I use to have several balckheads all over my nose and forehead. A couple years ago, I started washing my face daily with Biore Warming Anti-Blackhead cleanser. Let me tell you---it works! I know this sounds like some cheesy ad, but this is true. They started disappearing slowly, and after about a month or two, my face was completely clear and still is to this day. I still use Biore because it leaves my skin feeling really clean and the warmness of the cream opens pores and destroys those blackheads. You don't even have to pop them and get those ugly scars.

Oh, sometimes you get those really deep ones that stay in for months. I would suggest using the facial wash for those, then covering your head from the back and leaning over a bucket of boiling hot water. That opens your pores and makes them more vulnerable. Hope I help!

There are several ways to get rid of blackheads. Choose the method that you have the time & patience for because persistence is key.

1) Use Neutrogena Clear Pore Wash/Mask. It has clay and benzoyl peroxide to absorb excess oil, clear away old skin cells and kill bacteria. It works best as a mask - just apply where needed once or twice a week.

2) After washing your face, apply a warm compress & use a blackhead remover to gently ease it out. You must be gentle & follow the directions below carefully to avoid getting red marks & stretching out your pores.

3) After washing your face at night, dampen a cotton pad w/ hydrogen peroxide & swipe it over your nose. Hydrogen peroxide will bleach the blackheads & kill the bacteria that cause them.

If you have sensitive skin, leave the hydrogen peroxide on for 5 minutes & rinse it off.

4) Aspirin mask: Crush 4 - 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask. Or mix them with Queen Helene Mint Julep mask or aloe vera gel instead of water. Apply a thin layer where needed & let dry for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off w/ cool water.

5) Biore pore strips or DIY. Here's how: http://www.bathandbodyrecipes.com/tip.php?tipid=425

If you decide to use steam for a facial - don't get too close to the hot water, you risk getting burned by the steam.
