I'm guessing by the wording that it's a B/F
So here goes. There seems a lack of trust on his part. A lack of trust is an intimacy issue. If he loved you, as you do him, he would trust you enough to go. I don't think you can convince him, though you should go to the conference anyway. Don't let some man run your life. This conference seems important to you, so it should be important to him as well. You could tell him that you won't go, but you reserve the right to veto anything that he would want to do in the future that is really important to him.

Go Go Go - if he can't give you any freedom and trust now it will only get worse as the years go on.
I am sure that were the positions reversed he would have no qualms about making the trip.
Whether wife, GF or daughter, you are your own person

Well it depends who it is if it is your husband than just explain to him that you will be alright and that you will call him everyday.
If it is your dad than just say that Im old enough and im not a baby anymore. Stop treating me like one please! I will call you all the time.
Hope you get to go. Have Fun!

i think he is being to over protected what is "he" to you and if he is your b/f then geez you got to tell him to give you some kind of trust and besides you got a cellie phone to call if anything anyways and that you could handle your own with out him and you got to tell him that he is not always gonna be there to protect you anyways... and if its your dad you could tell him the same thing

WOW your letting a man control your life???? You have 2 choices; you can live your life for yourself or you can listen to him and live your life how he wants you too.

Is he your boyfriend? Because just saying he doesn't help. If he is your boyfriend, tell him that you have to whether he likes it or not and he is more than willing to tag along.

We could answer this better if we know who "he" is. We need a more defined relationship.
