We gave our dog the Heimlich maneuver to save her from choking on a piece of taffy that her misguided owners gave her. She was gagging, struggling and almost blue. I was screaming, unable to make any decision. My husband was the only one with a calm head. He had to take her into the next room so I would not see what he was going to do. One quick squeeze, and the candy popped out onto the floor. It was a lesson I never forgot. No matter how cute your dog begs- don't give them taffy!!!!!
