I would say it depends on what you are looking for.
The San Juan Hotel is the elegant in a very clasical way with the giant chandelier in the lobby with the black mable floors and cherry wood walls. it is what a luxury hotel should be.
The Ritz Carlton is an elegant hotel but I think it is a understated elegance ( laid back) this one does have a spa.
the Water Club Hotel is very nice in a modern contemporary way if you want hotel that remind you of South beach then this is your best bet.

It is elegant and has a casino. Other hotels that are elegant are the Embassy Suits,
Radisson Amabassador Plaza Hotel and Casino,The Ritz Carlton San Juan Spa and casino.
I have been at these hotels at night to see some events and to visit the casinos.

In previous San Juan..inn El Convento very previous type and tasty...each and everything interior walking Distance.. holiday inn or Embassy Suite 2 minutes from the Airport. In Isla Verde.
