don't tell him he wasn't good...that will ruin his ego and make him not want to do it again with you.
tell him what you like. it is different for everyone. suggest that he do something different. just teach him a little and he will figure out how to make it good for you.

Its best that you don't tell him how bad he is . Tell him you want to try to spice things up a bit by doing new things( Rent a sexy movie to give hints) get some toys and guide him to what you like. Tell him it will be fun to try some new things. See what happens. I wish you the best and hoped this gave you some help.

Three months is not really slow. It's pretty fast so don't pat yourself on the back for showing restraint.
Instead of telling him he's not all that, tell him stuff like "I'd really love it if you..."
If it's too hard to get personal, you got no business getting naked with him.

Just joke about it with him or with his friends untill he realices that there is something going on; perhaps the problem is not his perhaps is just that you are to good for him!!
Now in His defence, the first few times Guys, in general, tend not to be so great ...; but there might be room for improvment, don't you think...

Criticism won't improve things; he doesn't need performance anxiety. A lot of times it's not that great at the beginning.

You don't have to tell him no lie if it ain't the truth & teach him how you want to be please. Everyone pleases differently and most people think what pleases the last woman would please the next....... But as a lesbian female (Butch) I know. Teach him in motion what you want without saying it, if he don't get it then let him know............

Well, why don't you suggest what he should do to make it better for you? Different things turn different people on.
