I got a speeding ticket in Illinois and the cop took my license. When I go to court do I get it back?

You might get it back at court or you may have to go to the department of motor vehicles to get it back.

The officer should have returned it before you left unless your license was suspended or revoked. In that case the officer would not have let you drive away. You should contact the licensing office and report the license lost and request a duplicate.

if the license was suspended or revoked, you would have had your car towed. he might have just forgotten to give it back to you. contact the PD, and ask why your license was kept. you would have been arrested if you were DWLSR. it might have just been a mistake.
