Any time after 8 weeks is fine. I do my pets around 10 weeks, they are up and running in a few hours, and the incision heals in a week or less. Some people suggest to wait until 6 months, but there's really no point. The important thing is to catch her before she hits her first heat cycle at 5-7 months. And the younger they are, the faster they heal.

If you are a responsible owner and can ensure that your female will not become pregnant, then I suggest you wait until the one year to 18 months mark. Hormones play a huge role in developement of mind and body and should be left intact during growth. Make an informed decision based on what YOU know and are aware of and never mind what anyone else says including your vet.

You can have her spayed at 5-7 months of age. The reason some animal hospitals do it at this age is because if she has any deciduous teeth (puppy or baby teeth) they can remove it at the same time as her spay instead of sedating her twice. Some shelters or animal hospitals can do it at the age of 8 weeks.

6 months, but bring her to the vet ASAP to start on vaccines and routine care. That way, she is established and all set to go. You won't have to worry about anything at that point but the spaying.
