Atheist love to boast that they are not "religious" but you have to Believe there is no god in order to make that assumption and that cannot be proven, therefore atheism is religious.. are atheist wellingly ignorrant for there own personal gains? for reasons of ethics, materialism, sexual freedom and/or libralism? I don't believe there is a lack of evidence to support that there is a god, but I think the suppression of evidence is the problem, what do you think?

You found us out. We are "suppressing" all evidence of god, just to drive you all crazy.

I sincerely doubt that evidence is suppressed - unless god is doing the suppression. Assuming a good god, I'd happily believe if there was evidence. Since you invoked moral freedom, it is likely that you do not understand the concepts of being responsible for your actions, and the attendant responsibilities that come with freedom. True I can choose a rational moral system but I don't have anyone to blame but me if I stray from it - no saying the temptation was too great, or the spirit was willing! I realize that my actions affect others and I have the responsibility to ensure that I'm acting in a way that is good for all.

Oh, by the way, you were right: Evidence is being suppressed. The church feeds you with "pseudo-science" lies every time they tell you about creationism. This is a hard cold fact.

Ahhh Man - I'm on the Circular Logic Train again. Dude this ride is so damned boring.

I don't "believe" there is no god. I know there is zero evidence for a god and that the idea of god is nonsense and completely irrational.

If you "believe" there is evidence then you bear the burden of proof. Therefore you must submit your evidence for peer review and validation.

Since you can not provide any evidence then how can it be suppressed? No one can suppress that which does not exist.

How can science prove the existence of things in this universe that we didn't even know existed, gives us explanations for natural events, creates modern appliances, gives us modern medicine, can figure out the blueprints to life (D.N.A.), and yet has not come up with even a shred of proof, for hundreds of years, that a God exists? Do you think it's a conspiracy by all scientists, since science has begun, to debunk the existence of God? Many scientists believe in the existence of God, and yet they cant prove God exists. The evidence for there not being a God is very strong. But you never know. It can never be completely disproved that a God exists, just like it can never be disproved that aliens exist.

surpression of evidence? That is a joke.

You do realise that the USA is 90%+ christian, and nearly all the leaders of the country are also christian including the president?

Maybe you could explain how this 'evidence supression' works exactly?

By the way if atheism is a religion then 'bald' is a hair colour, and 'not collecting stamps' is a hobby.

Well, the question would garner more respect and be easier to comprehend if you used the handy spell check, but oh well.

Yes, atheists believe that there is no god, which does not make them religious. Most atheists in my opinion aren't often thinking about the absence of god and how that makes them feel. To me, the great thing about being atheist is that I don't have to think about that at all. I can spend my time thinking about things that matter to me.

I agree with you on that area. Most things that are found are discredited. But there are other historical documents other then the bible that exist, that point to someone called Jesus of Nazareth at about the same time as the bible says there is.
You are right about Atheism, supposed to be without believe, but you believe their is no God, is a belief in itself

No, it does not require any belief that God does not exist to be an atheist, it simply requires that I do not share the theists belief in a god or gods... there is absolutely no religious belief required I choose not to share your belief because I think considering the lack of evidence that it's false.

Name one single scrap of evidence that has been suppressed. One.
And who's suppressing it? Atheists? I thought that "God" wasn't going to show himself to those who don't believe, so how can they be the *only* ones who have evidence TO suppress?
And atheism is a religion only in the same way NOT collecting stamps is a hobby.

I think atheists have a right to not believe. Life already has many natural consequences regardless of what type of religion people may or may not believe. Maybe many alleged miracles are actually the work or illusions of extraterrestrials.Look into spiritual atheism also.

Suppression of evidence that supports God? Wouldn't God forbid that?
