Is it possible for her to attend College view her Immigration Status?
Here's the situation: I've got a friend who now lives in the USA. Her and her family entered with a type B2 visa and applied for political asylum. Right now their case is pending and their next appointment is 6 months from now. She was trying to apply to college but before she wants to know if it is possible for her to attend college right now. She has a 3.0 GPA and plays sports. She was going to play for the University that'll apply to. Does anyone knows how she can get that done? She asked me for advice and I told her that I'll do my best to find the answers to her question. She Already has a SSN and a valid work permit.. Please help me find an answer... Yes, she can attend as a resident until her asylum request is either accepted or rejected. While the request is pending she's 100% legal in the United States.

I knew many Afghan refugees during the 80's who did so.

She should ask the university she plans on attending, but as far as I know she should be able to go to school if she is able to get a job.
