It will not stop you from getting a license as an agent but if you are applying for a broker's license you will need a $10,000 bond and if your credit is really bad you will probably not be able to get bonded. Also as an agent you will also need to get appointed by an insurance company and bad credit may stop you from getting appointed since most companies do a thorough background check. For additional information, please visit the California Insurance Department's website at

Good Luck

Since insurance deals with money/finances, a bad credit report can prevent an insurance company from hiring you.

nicely no...yet you would be breaking the regulation, and in the adventure that your insurance lapses you pays much extra for insurance the subsequent time you purchase it. while you're at fault in a collision, you would be legally to blame to pay for all damages and injuries to the different events in contact. in case you are able to't have the money for insurance you do not have any employer using a motor vehicle.

It could hinder you.... But you don't need a licence and background check to have a million kids. Strange, huh?

Not sure in your state but not in Texas only your criminal record will and there are ways around that depending on the circumstances.

It won't stop you from getting the license, but it can stop you from getting either a job or an appointment somewhere.
