you are saved???
jesus died forour sins no matter what i do i am saved anyway, since he was god and if a god dies for your sins, it means so... cause, what kind of a god would be if even though dying for our sins then we were condemned for our sins???
god dies for our sins, later on he will decide who goes to hell or heaven based on our sins, so everyone goes to heaven.
he dies for our sins and later on he himself judges us for our sins....there is some kind of "complexity" (irony) i dont quite grasp

That's what many who profess to be Christian would have you believe

Fortunately, it's not what the Bible really teaches.

We just live in an "Im ok, you're ok, everyone's ok" kind of world.

I don't think you understand "christian religion". This is the statement: "Jesus died for our sins." And this is why: So that we may be forgiven for our own sins.

You are condemned for your sins yes but God is a forgiving God and He gave us a chance to repent due to Jesus dying on the cross. Jesus died for our sins and was risen to ascend into Heaven. And because of this we are able to ask for forgiveness and God will forgive and we can have a chance to ascend into Heaven as Jesus did. Understand?
When we die, and when Judgement Day comes we will be judged according to Gods Word. When the Book of Life shall be opened and our deeds and misdeeds will be read. God doesn't forgive sins that have not been asked to forgive. And the "no matter what I do I am saved anyways" statement you made is false. Some christians do believe this but it is not true at all. Believing in God is only the first step to a righteous life with Him in Heaven.
And I see no irony in anything. Grasp the Word and understand it.

Hardly an authority on this but the way it was explained to me is that the punishment for sin is death. Since we have all sinned, we escape death only by Jesus having taken our place . We are told "you are not saved by works" which means only Jesus' sacrifice could have paid the price. Some mistakenly take this to mean our actions are of no consequence as long as we believe. But having dodged the death sentence does not mean a guaranteed place in Heaven. That WILL depend on all the other commandments we are given for living a Christian life.
How "Christian" a Christian must be is not spelled out specifically but it must be pretty strict because of the Scripture that says "if you have broken one letter of the law, your have broken them all". And, "there is a narrow path leading to Heaven and few will be those that find it". Hence, the millions that think they are Heaven-bound probably are not and if you look around at the condition of the world that was entrusted to us and the suffering of millions that we could be alleviating and choose not to.... that will be the reason that "few" (not millions) will make it.....

Should we go on sinning, No! Will we, more than likely. There is more than just believing (even the demons do that) accepting is the key word here, what are you accepting? Do you accept that you are a sinner? That Jesus lived the Law perfectly, that He took your place at the judgment seat of God? Do you accept Him as Lord and Savior?
All have sinned, so all deserve punishment, not Heaven. If you believe in Jesus Christ, repent of your sins and trust in His perfect works, then when the judging that you speak of comes to be, God will see not your righteousness (which doesn't exist except through belief in Jesus), but that of Christ, in whom you trust. The price has been paid. it is as easy as this, you did the crime, Jesus paid the fine. justice served.

Jesus died for EVERYONE'S sins, past present and future. But, unless you REPENT of your sins, and CONFESS with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you are not saved. Jesus said in order to go to heaven, one must be BORN AGAIN, and if one is born again, they will receive a NEW HEART, and they will become a NEW CREATURE in Christ. You have to accept Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior. The Bible says "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16
So, you have to believe in Jesus, that He is God's son who died for your sins. It is nothing we do, but it is what He did that saves you. It is by the GRACE OF GOD, THROUGH OUR FAITH WE ARE SAVED.
Then, if you live your life according to God's will, and not your own, you will go to heaven. You will not have to get judged in the white throne judgment (the one where all the unbelievers have to answer for all they've done, and then they get thrown into the Lake of Fire) The believers will be with Jesus. Then, after we are redeemed, we will be judged (or rewarded) according to our works. (these are rewards, not punishments, and they don't get you into heaven) and we will already be with Him.

Hope this helps you understand better
God Bless

Jesus did die for our sins, but that does not mean that His death gives us the license to live contrary to His Word. You said once that you have read God's Word in entirety. If so, you had to read repeatedly Jesus saying, "If you love me, you will obey my commandments." "Obedience is better than sacrifice." In the book of James 2:19 it reads "You believe in God, good. The devil and the demons believe....and tremble." Belief alone is not good enough to attain Eternal life without a life that is surrendered to God. As Christians, we stumble and fall and are foriven for our sins, but we DO NOT continue in that sin once we acknowledge we were wrong. To continue shows a lack of repentance, therefore God will judge that sin because He is holy and He always abides by His nature.

This passage will explain it to some extent but from what I understand, being saved (having your name written in the Lamb's book of life) gets you into Heaven, the things you have done as a Christian for God here on Earth will be the basis for your inheritance in Heaven.

Revelation 20:
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

It sure seems that way to me. I am not a christian but I am an observer of all kinds of people. I find that a lot (certainly not all, some of my closest friends believe in Jesus and God) of christians are truly cruel people. Pushy, ignorant and just plain nasty. Yet they believe they are "saved" and superior to others.

"The Sopranos" perfect example (and yes, I realize it is a fictitious TV show). The mobsters kill, rape, steal - all kinds of horrible stuff yet they are church going people!

Not all Christian denominations believe in Once Saved, Always Saved. For Catholics, that thinking is completely foreign.

Well because one is saved does not mean you can act in another manner and not be called on it in one form or another. Because of my salvation and transformation, I strive to be Christ-like in my actions. In public and behind closed doors. Yes once we ask Jesus into our life and for his forgiveness we are forgiven. Once we are saved we cannot lose our salvation. But knowing that gift and using that gift it is only natural to act in the Characteristics of God.

No, it means that our sins do count. It is for the sins of the world and to inform us of God's righteousness so that we can imitate it, that Christ was crucified, and rose again.
Only righteousness equals salvation. You can believe whatever, without righteousness in word, deed and heart you cannot achieve paradise.
