The PHARISEES, or the religious leaders.
Jesus chose to die on the cross. That is why He came down to earth in the first place. It was God's plan of salvation. Like Jesus said to Pontius Pilate when he said to Jesus, "Don't you know I have the power to crucify you, or set you free?" Jesus said to him, "YOU WOULDN'T HAVE THE POWER, IF IT HAD NOT BEEN GIVEN TO YOU FROM ABOVE."
It was the Pharisees who offered Him up, Judas, who betrayed Him. But, if Jesus had not died on the cross, we would all be condemned to Hell! It is because He died on the cross we can be forgiven of our sins, and are offered ETERNAL LIFE with Him. I thank Him each and eveyday for what He chose to do for us. Jesus forgave those who crucified Him. Just as He forgives us of our sins.
The Jews are God's chosen people, and if you go against them, you are going against God.

Hmmmm.... As I read the story of Jesus' crucifixtion,in my Bible HIStory book, it said that the jews demanded it, Pontius Pilot ordered it, and the roman soldiers nailed it. However it also says, that Jesus willingly chose it, because He knew 'it' was the only way to pay the price for our sins, as well as the sins of all mankind, for all time. Sin has no 'skin'; it is the rebellious soul nature 'everyone' is born with.

The Romans put Jesus to death because He preached persistently that He was the King of the Jews. They didn't believe Him.

(AP) Defendant Jesus of Nazareth was found guilty by a roman court for sedition after he was seen causing a disturbance outside the temple during passover. The crime was reported to Roman authorities by the Jewish governing body.
He was sentenced to crucifixion and throw into a common grave as is customary for criminals executed by Rome. An appeal for the body of the criminal was made by one Joseph of Aramathea but it was denied.
The execution was carried out according to Roman traditions

The Jews and Romans persecuted Jesus. Romans had religious tolerance, so long as they paid tribute to the Roman gods, and even gave leeway to Jews to let them just believe in God. But they did not give the same rights to Christians, and persecuted them. The Jews also persecuted Jesus, as they did not believe he was the Messiah.

If you can handle the truth , here it is. It was the Romans that actually killed Jesus. It was the descendants of Cain who are not full blooded Jew who pressured the Romans into killing Jesus by yelling " crucify him,,, crucify him.

The Roman soldiers crucified Jesus after Pilate said to. It was the chief priests handed him over to them.

He was crucified by Roman Soldiers because the Jews would not let Pontius Pilate exchange Him for another prisoner, a murderer named Barabas. So Jesus paid the price for our sin. The sinless one became sin on the cross for my sin so that I might be redeemed back to God otherwise we would be lost forever with no hope.

No one crucified Jesus. He's a fictional character.

Did a historical Jesus exist?
http://www.nobeliefs.com/exist.htm
[Excerpt]
ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS
No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.
Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.
Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.

Jesus was never crusified. God Saved him from the people and he lives till this day and he will decend back to earth at the end of time to bring peace to humanity with Gods will.
It is said in the Holy Quran what is translated as follows:
157. That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:- (#4 Surat Alnisa -Women-)
