I was told this a bit ago, and it makes me so angry that people judge other people that they dont know.
Cindy: We do have a loving and forgiving God. However, God makes His judgment on the dead when they die. It doesn't matter whether or not your fiancee was angry at God. What matters is whether he repented of his sins (asked for forgiveness and turned away) and put his faith in Jesus. He would fail on two qualifications if he was angry at God. It would seem that he did not put his faith in Jesus. One commandment is to put God first in one's life. Being angry at God makes it seem like God was last in his life.
Cindy, you cannot pray for the dead because your fiancee's eternity was decided the moment he died. God either accepted him into Heaven or sent him into Hell. By the way you've described it, it sounds like he's in Hell. It is a sad thing to think. Prayer won't change it because it has been decided. God is a just God, meaning he won't let sin go unpunished. Unless your fiancee asked Jesus into his heart (through repentance and faith), the one who paid for his sins, he is not in Heaven.

1st, he gave his life to Christ two years before he died
2nd He was having some family problems and was angry, did not undertstand why he was going through what he was going through. He was a great man, who bent over backwards to help others.
He was raised JW and went Baptist to be saved. we did have sex out of marrriage and that is the biggest reason, my pastor told me he was in Hell.

This is just wrong! all of it, and I can not see a loving a forgiving God sending people to Hell, because of a few mistakes, he knows we are not saints or perfect.

These are vicious things for these people to say to you. There is no purpose for these people to say these things except to make them feel powerful by making you feel bad. Even if they really believed these things, what do they accomplish by not just keeping their mouths shut?
And the theology they are pushing is just sick. Any theology that requires them to badger a mourning woman with visions of her fiance suffering in hell is a nasty theology.
Get away from these people.
I am not saying you need to get away from religion, but you can certainly find a more humane and compassionate pastor and church community.

Your Fiancee is in Heaven.
Sex dosen't Disqualify you from Heaven (sex IS NOT the Unpardonable Sin).
Neither are any of the Other Regular old sins either like, murder, being gay, drunkeness so on.
The Unpardonable Sin is Hebrews 6: 4,5,6 and I doubt if your Fiancee could even Commit it.
Baby Children of GOD cannot even Commit the Unpardonable Sin.
You have to GROW and go Real High in the Spirit Realm, Walking Real Close to Jesus befor you can even Commit it.
You said that your Financee had given his Heart to Jesus at a Baptist Church?
He got Born-Again (Spirit Recreated) and he is in Heaven.
Baptist Church's are GREAT for getting people Saved (get their Spirit Recreated)!!!
I wouldn't worry too much about what Others say. I have Studied these Things for YEARs and what I AM telling you is in the Bible and is Truth.
Being Angry at GOD won't mess up your Spirit either, the only way to Lose your Salvation AFTER you are Born Again is Hebrews 6: 4,5,6.
That is the only way and baby Christians cannot even commit it.
Hope this helps!
May GOD Bless your Soul in the Midst of a Trial with Peace and Joy, May GOD Almighty show you that what I said is TRUE (GOD uses 2 or more Witness's) In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, HIS Son, Risen from the Dead

I would discourage anyone from seeking intelligent wisdom or counsel on this forum. I'm sorry about your fiance'. There's a great little book called "If Grace Is True-Why God will Save Every Person" by two well-known, respected Christian pastor/scholars. I think it's sad that people can actually say they believe in a loving God who would condemn anyone to an eternity of damnation. Also, it's not sinful to be angry. As for premarital sex, civil marriage is a modern idea and part of society. God sees the heart and spirit, not a piece of paper. I hope you are finding the comfort and support you need in your grief.

And this is why false religion must fall.
I can't believe religious leaders still tell suffering people their loved ones are in hell. Such false teachers are the offspring of vipers.
I am so sorry you've had to hear that.
Hell is nothing more than a state of sleep-like inactivity.
Please read Ecc;. 9:5, 10 and Ps. 146:4
Ezekiel 18:4 says "the soul that is sinning- it itself will die." Die: not be tormented or tortured.
My heart goes out to you.

the biggest thing is it is all what you believe, heaven, hell don't exist to me, but if you want to believe he went to hell or heaven that is up to how you think he lived, there is no reason as to why anyone should tell you the fate of another person like that pastor has some special link to god, he doesn't. you said he is a good person... that makes him eligible for heaven. if you really think about it though, you will find that out when you die, hopefully. everyone has thier flaws, and if having sex before marriage constitutes a ticket in hell.. then there would be a whole lot more murderers because if you think about it once you have done that there is no reason to follow any other commandment, and if you live a good life and do unto others than whether you proclaim god before anything else or not, you have done things the way he wishes so you have ultimatley done so inadvertently. so what i am saying follow the golden rule and if someone else does the same than they are happily waiting for you on the other side (if you believe in the "other side")

I'm so sorry, Cindy. What's been said to you is simply awful. Sometimes human beings sink incredibly low because their own lives are so empty and miserable they feel everyone else's should be. When done in accordance with 'religion' it is cruelty at some of its worst- your pastor and the letter-writer are not only acting un-Christ-like, but as if theirs are the words of God. They are not, and I don't think any God would approve of having words put into his or her mouth. According to the Bible, if your fiance accepted Christ as Lord then he is already in heaven.
I may not believe in the Bible or any deity but I do believe in human kindness and compassion - NEITHER of which have been shown to you in the least, either by whoever sent you that letter or your pastor. Ask yourself this: Do you believe in a benevolent god? If so, your fiance is in heaven. If not, then there is no god, because in my mind anyone without benevolence is without godliness.
I truly believe that your fiance is 100% alright and can feel your love all around him.
(((Cindy)))

I am a Christian woman and I will be the first to tell you that your preacher or minister was wrong!
He was wrong on quite a few levels actually. The first of which was his lack of compassion in your moment of need, Secondly, your preacher, nor any other human being KNOWS what God will decide about any of our souls. Your preacher my dear did what humans always do in order to make themselves feel more important: impose their feelings on Him. God forgives in ways we cannot even comprehend.
It is my *opinion* that the only people we can be sure go to hell are those who worship Satan and have completely refused God. Let's face it though, that is where they wanted to go to serve their master...
You'll know what happened to your fiancee when it is your turn to leave this world. Anyone who tells you what happened to him is just hazarding a guess. Pray for him and frankly, pray for anyone else your minister has misguided like this.

Technically any sin is as bad as another so a white lie is as bad as murder or genocide. If your pastor indicated that premarital sex was somehow worse than other sins, he is totally wrong besides being an idiot for trying to second guess god. If your fiancee had given his life to Jesus then he was saved, the only caveat is that he could at a later time reject god by becoming an atheist or satanist etc. but for all intensive purposes salvation is forever, and is not nullified by sins along the way.
This is about the best I can do, but it is standard Christian doctrine.
I'm pulling for you =)

So what's the question?
I wouldn't put any stock in what other people say about whether a person goes to heaven or hell, not even your pastor's. If premarital sex is a recipe for damnation, then heaven is going to be an awfully lonely place.
Only God knows.
My father was an atheist, and sometimes an antitheist. I have no idea if he is in heaven or Hell. I would like to think he's in heaven by virtue of my mother. She was a saint, and I don't think God would want to cross her. .. ;)
I think Jesus was in the business of harvesting as many souls as he could. Allowances can be made.
I hope judgemental people think about their judgements when they reach heaven, for didn't Jesus say "Judge ye not, lest ye be judged"?
I sometimes have a fantasy of a court of judgement on judgement day. Who will you testify for? Who will you testify against? I can think of some people who by the letter of the law should go to hell, but I will step forward if asked and pronounce that clemency be granted for a good person. There are other people who have lived by the law, but if asked, I will state that "I don't know that person." No one has crossed me so bad that I will testify against them (yet).

I'm very sorry for your loss. We should all be thankful that your pastor is not our judge. God is the one who judges us and He knew your fiancee and the struggles he was going through. God reads the hearts of men. Your pastor has no business telling you that he is in hell because it is not his place to make that decision. I strongly suggest you find another church family. May God bless you.
edit: for those who are giving thumbs down and for your pastor here is a question. How do any of you know whether or not he asked for forgiveness for the sins he had committed? Tell me that and then pass judgment on him...you people make me sick!
