Fill out an application form for the posted higher paying job and turn it in with a copy of the posting .
In the expected pay section , say see attached and have the pay highlighted .
NOTICE : That position may have other duties which you may or may not be qualified to do .
Make sure you have read the FULL job description .

do bring it up, but be prepared to treat this like a request for a raise. it's just a request for a raise with a built-in, strong argument.

ask your supervisor for an appointment. then bring him/her some evidence of your productivity. if your work has caused your department to be more productive, or if you've enabled the department to do things it couldn't have done before, then bring in numbers, charts, or graphs to show this.

bring in a compendium of the work you've done--if it's been writing reports, or creating brochures, or whatever.

be sure to bring in your quarterly reviews.

read through everything and be prepared to discuss your strengths and weaknesses with your employer.

finally, prepare an argument for why you should be paid more. you should be giving your employer a presentation that is itself proof that you're worth the money you're asking for.

in fact, put it in powerpoint.

good luck.

Ensure that the role is exactly equivalent to what you do and the qualifications required are all owned by you and then go ask.

Point out that money is not a motivator but lack of it is a demotivator and as you now know what the going rate is you expoect to be remunerated accordingly.

it is all a acting job, you did not do all your research when you were hired in, i think you will have to apply at another company and deal better.. live and learn.. you could have said what are you going to pay the best person for this job?
