I dont want to sound racist (though some will say iam) but why is it that Mexicans think they are exempt from the immigration process? My family came from the Philippines which is like 6000+ miles away from the USA, and they all got their proper Visas and legally came to america, yet it seems that Mexicans feel they can jump the border and be automatic citizens. Why is that?

Additionally, the Philippines is a very poor country. Even poorer than Mexico, yet people from there still come here legally. If they can do it why cant the Mexicans?

Unfortunately, individuals in Mexico feel that poverty is an excuse for anything. And even more unfortunate, there are Americans that agree with them.

Poverty is something that is there for people. It is not pleasant, and it is not something that isn't "uncurable". But people have to want to escape poverty, and they have to work at it to do that.

Those that come here illegally feel that they deserve this "right" because they are poor. That is a load of crap - they are looking for the easy way out. I think that more need to realize that just because they don't like the law doesn't mean that you can break it and still be rewarded. Not every law is popular, but it is the law. If they desire to be in this nation, they would respect our laws. If they can't even do that, then why should they be allowed to remain here?

And for those that feel that it takes too long for an individual from Central/South America to receive a visa: Don't you think that if they stopped coming here illegally that would up the number of visas given to those nationalities? The US doesn't grant many visas to those nations due to the number of illegal immigrants already in this nation from those nations. So if one would like to lay blame for that, again it goes to the illegal immigrants. If they weren't selfish in coming here illegally, they would be able to be granted more legal visas. So they again defeat their own purpose.

To tell you the truth, no, I don't think we believe that. But let's take me out of the equation, because as subemployed as I am, I've had opportunites and actually no wife or children to support, so I got it easy, tyvm.

That is not the case with the guys that jump the wall (they can't jump the border anymore), they are there not because, trust me, they just felt like it. It's a combination of bad government policies, bad economic planning, misuse of farming ground, and poor education.

I'll avoid sarcasm, which I use at the smallest pretext, and just say that any country next to the US would export immigrants. Put Britain in Mexico's location, it would happen. Put India, it would happen, put France... nah, there would be a war, but that's not the point.

There isn't a plan to take over Texas and California back (and it would be a bad idea, really), there aren't any mute film villains rubbing the stache and thinking: "nyuk, nyuk, I'll cross the border ilegally now, only evil thing left to do..."

I think the thought goes more along the lines of: "I can't work, I can't own any land, I can't feed my children... I guess the only option now is to just go north and try and earn some dollars, (which are worth more than eleven pesos) even if some people look down on me..." Sounds corny, but trust me, thats how things are...

As for citizenship, I understand it must have been an option long ago, and it would make sense: you cross ilegally, yes, but you have worked, so you should be able to ask to be legal, pay your taxes and expect any country to recognize you as a valuable member of your society. Some may not like it, but it also looks like saying: "I'd like to be a part of this great Country, and I paid some basic dues, can I ask for more?" As long as you're not Oliver Twist, that would be cool. Unless you affect some interests, then you proceed to use your empty plate as a hat, right? How dare you...

So bottomline, basically it's the Mexican Government that should be in trial, and under criticism. The Irresponsible Ones, not the victims. Why isn't anyone in D.C. asking some action to the Mexican Government, instead of kicking underdogs in the gut and shooing them away?

There are illegal immigrants in the US from all over, including China, the Phillipines, Albania, and pretty much any country you can think of. I don't think there are many Mexicans who believe they are exempt from the process, they just have circumvented it! Not one Mexican that I know truly believes that they have the right to be citizens, it's kind of like a child and their parents...let's see how much we can get before we're grounded...in this case, before we're sent back home.
For volleyba... your explanation about poverty comes across as somewhat ignorant. The fact that the illegal immigrants live in a country without opportunity is the reason that they are in poverty, it is not like here where someone who is dedicated enough and knows the right people can make something of themselves, if it were, there would be no need to come here! The majority of illegal immigrants are hard-working people, but no matter how hard they work in their country of origin they wouldn't make in a month what they could make illegally here in a week!

I totally agree with you dude. I know Haitians who have come here legally through France and their country is controlled by street gangs. Recently, there was a mass demonstration of illegal immigrants, I say again illegal immigrants, who wanted access to the same government services of that of a citizen. The police should've dropped a huge net over them and flown them back to Mexico. What they need to do is return to Mexico and hold mass demonstrations there. We had a revolution, so did the Russians, Spanish, French, etc. They need to have the strength and resolve to improve their own country so that future Mexicans won't have to deal with corrupt police, no jobs, and deadly kidnappings. In the Army I was taught that the weak run, while real men stay and fight!

Being we have 65% of the between 12- 20 million illigals ( I think it is much higher maybe between 20-50 million and more coming each day) that are from Mexico. We also have about between of 10% to 15% of the population from Mexico living here already, I would say a safe guess is without a doubt.

There are over 1,000,000 illegal aliens from the Philippines in the United States Tago Ng Tago. That the reason it's virtually impossible for an average Filipino to get a tourist visa.

The wait for a Filipino to get an immigrant visa is the longest of any country on Earth. It can take up to 23 years.

Not all Mexicans feel that way.
But it is obvious that some of them do.
It's not a Mexican defect or anything like that.
It's simply a matter of Mexico having the largest demand for migration to the U.S. and the demand not being met.

I can relate! After all the paper work red tape,The wait is up to 10 years before one can even immigrate to the U.S.A.!

Mexicans claim that they come from a poor country and just trying to improve and provide for their families!
So, they come into the U.S. illegally and if caught, no big deal, they will sneak back in, the next oppurtunity!
Why don't the Mexicans use birth control? another issue....

and don't bother to learn English? why do we have to learn Espanol?

Also the amnesty program - if they've lived here illegally for 10+ years, they are eligible for U.S. citizenship? not fair at all!
