"He who spareth the rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him correcteth him betimes" (Proverbs 13:24) and "Withhold not correction from a child: for if thou strike him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and deliver his soul from hell." (Proverbs 23:13-14)

Only read a few pages of the bible. Spanking your kids when they are young is acceptable with a light firm hand on the backside only.

It doesn't, though some people wish to translate "He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him." to mean spanking. I personally do not agree with that. "Spare the rod, spoil the child" is often quoted, but that exact phrase is not in the bible.

spare the rod, spoil the child. I think that's what it says. I think spanking is up to the parent, spanking is effective in some children, and some its not. Whatever works for you. Hope this helped.

I don't think " the rod" should be taken so literally. The rod was used to heard sheep not beat the sheep. Therefore, could the rod be a guide to gather your children in trust to love and serve the Lord? By doing that the kids will follow the word of guy thus showing respect for parents so you don't have to hit them. That is the route I took and it worked.

i don't remember it being anywhere but what i do know it that it does say
children obey your parents for this in the lord is right.
and i have heard spar the rod and spoil the child ( no clue what that means)
