Well, sounds to me like this friend has definitely developed feelings towards you... But that doesn't mean you have to turn your back and run just because she might be a lesbian.
I have never approached any of my female friends in this sort of way... So I'm not sure what she's doing here. Sounds like your friend needs to get it in her head that straight girls are off limits, and that includes you. Establish that you're not willing to take your relationship to that next step. She needs to know that you're not interested, or she'll keep pursuing you in ways you wish she wouldn't.
It's okay though. She's still your friend, still the same girl she was yesterday. If she is gay, love her for who she is. This doesn't have to be the end of your friendship.

i had a friend who was ,,,, not quite like you described, but in the ending up she made a pass at me one night after school and then some guys were telling me stuff that i did not believe, long story short she was a major lezzy as you say living with another woman and all, but to her credit she turned out to be a great friend and then somewhere along the way we lost contact with each other.your friend needs to slow her roll.

Shes probably confused about her identity right now and everyone goes through that at least once in their life... so just confront her say "i dont know what your situation is as far as your sexuality but i just want to be your friend" and if people cant accept that shes just your friend then there dumb. She should take the hint and hopefully you can continue to be good friends.
Good luck.

I don't know ... is she from a different culture? My Best friend is from India and is very sweet and kind but hugs me and holds my hand. Some times I get uncomfortable too. If that isn't the case tell her to please stop that its making you uncomfortable. If she's a good friend like you say she is she'll listen. Good luck!

Just tell her that you love her but not in a sexual way...unless you do. Sound like she is either a lesbian or Bi Sexual to me. I personally feel that there is nothing wrong with that. You just need to go ahead and set you boundaries.

It is possible for it to be strictly friendly.
But it's also possible for her to like you too.
You should tell her how you feel about it, and ask how she feels about you. If you're uncomfortable, then tell her and she should back off. If you want it to be more than friendly, then perhaps it will develop into something.

Sounds pretty normal for teenage girls to be that way together. If you find any of it unwelcomed, let her know lovingly. Believe you me, you will miss her a lot if you break it up badly. Talk more about boys. See who she likes.
