Why is living in the Lower Mainland dangerous?

I need some basic stuff about dangerous events that may happen if u live in the lower mainland, near the pacific ring of fire.

If any Hurricanes come then it would be impossible to escape.Also is you live below sea-level then since the ice caps are metling the water levels will rise and thenyou would be under the sea.

Earthquakes are probably the biggest threat there. Limited volcanism. I survived a bunch of quakes in CA, so it's not really dangerous, just different.
