The reason for some coughs is a post nasal drip it comes from your nose so when you wake you cough try some nose sprays before you go to bed to clear your nose. If you have a chesty cough you may need to take medication to break up the mucus or if you have this situation all the time you may be developing asthma. Blessed Be.

It is caused by inside post-nasal drip & congestion. Just go to the Dollar Store and buy a cough syrup that contains GUAIFENESIN. That will loosen your sinus cavities. Or ask a doctor for a stronger version of the same. But it should work .
