I love Jesus and all that he's done for me in my life. I love the Bible, I love fellowship, I love God. I also love to smoke weed. Is it possible to have a relationship with God while smoking herb? Does this go against biblical teaching?

You are EITHER a pot smoker OR a Jesus worshiper.

Not both.

pharmakeia is a greek word used in the Bible for sorcery or witchcraft/deception. We get the word pharmacy from this. We relate this to drugs or narcotics, because you are no longer in control, and it is you or Jesus.

You are deceived, or a very deceived liar.

I struggled with this when I first became a Christian, I was an every day pot smoker. It took me two months for the Holy Spirit to convict me so much, I finally gave it up. Basically, the stuff nowadays is nothing like the original herb, its so processed and specialized. It does more damage than good to your body and I dont believe in its present state is pleasing to God. Do i think youll burn in hell for smoking pot? no. Do i believe its a sin that is keeping you a bit further away from Him? yes. Gods peace to you in your decision, its a hard one to make.

Here is your answer, friend:

"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."

I don't know of any commandment from God against smoking pot.

God has told us to be subject to civil authority. For you to understand that will take a bit of study on your part.

I've read the Bible several times.. cover to cover.
And no where does it say you can't smoke pot.

Personally, I think it should be legalized....I'm just guessin here
bu I'm gonna have to say that God doesn't care if you smoke pot or not--- He's gonna love you and having a relationship with you regardless.

Well, you should know from the Bible that a Christian: (1) should not be intoxicated; (2) should not break the laws of the land; and, (3) should not put anything into his body that he knows is harmful.

So, I would say that smoking pot is a sin.

Not if you're a member of the Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church.

*Edit* -- What kind of doofus gives that a thumbs-down? It's true. Look it up. The Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church is a Christian sect near Kingston, Jamaica. Pot is used as the sacrament.

Yes, you can still have a relationship with God, but we are supposed to obey "Cesar's Laws" unless it contradicts with God's.

God endorses weed:

Exodus chapter 30 verse 22 - 33:

Moreover the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying: "Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet KINEBOISIN two hundred and fifty shekels.

And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of olive oil an hin

And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary; it shall be an holy anointing oil

And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony.

Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you

Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people

KINEBOISIN, according to the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, is the old name for cannabis - it was also spelt kannabosm. They claim it was mis-translated in the King James' version of the bible, as "calamus"

I don't think they even knew about "POT" when the bible was written! But what do you think Gods opinion is on killing brain cells?
