Where can I find details on finding a transatlantic ship. I'm not looking for a round trip cruise I would just like to find a cruise to take to Europe before staying there for a year.

Search first on Cunard Cruise line because they do transatlantic cruise almost weekly and almost exclusively. For the most part their cruises depart from NY City.

But several other cruise lines also have transatlantic cruises. Just go to the cruise line web sites and click on search button for "destination" and select Transatlantic. do not put in any other selector so that all of the cruises will show. Then if you want cruises leaving from Florida, put in Miami or Ft Lauderdale departure port.

I think Cunard is the only company with regular cruises going both ways. Unfortunately, the repositioning cruises will be bringing most of the ships from Europe to North America for the Caribbean or Panama Canal cruises.

Most cruise search engines provide this way of searching, and most of the major cruise lines have such a sailing. Lots of people take transatlantic voyages one way, then fly the other way. Indeed you can't usually book round trip by cruise ship - you have to book two one ways.

Travelocity, Orbitz, Expedia, cruisemates.com, plus all of the major cruise line sites will have this option.
