Question

some one once told me " The Old Testament is there to show us just how bad things can get"

so can evolution fit in this?
could adam and eve be a fairy tale?
im confused because i do believe in evolution

Not only how bad things can get
but also
how good it can be under God Almighty's guidance and protection.

Here are the basics:

Genesis chapter one is the story of how God brought creation about. This includes men and women in the later verses.

Genesis chapter two is about a specific family. This is the family of "the very Adam" which through Jesus would come.

In in chapter one God creates many men and women but in
Chapter two the bible speaks about the forming of one man and then a woman from a rib (cloning like process). These are different stories. Only connected by the fact the God brought these things about.

Later the man and woman (the very Adam and Eve) have children. These children find mates from among the men and women that are mentioned in chapter one.

Easy?

Yes.

God prepared the Earth over a long period of time so that it could be inhabited by US - human beings! Many processes. Quite a few are mentioned in the bible.

The earth is billions of years old.

What some uneducated people do is take a verse out of the end New Testament in one language and apply it to verses at the very beginning of the bible in another language.

This is error. The bible does not say the earth is 6 or 7 thousand years old.

Evolution does not quite work. Never has, even though there are pretty morphing videos and all to show what certain people think.

Unfortunately you, being young, have been blasted over and over with evolution and been given very little of the truth of the bible.

Take great care with the adversary.

Eph.6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

wiles = G3180 = methodeia (meth-od-i'-ah) a compound of G3326 and G3593 [compare “method”]; traveling over, that is, travesty, (trickery): - wile, lie in wait.

He lies in wait (as above) with many things that may bring doubt.

In Genesis 1 there are 6 days of creation discussed. In verse 5 it says: And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

evening and morning = 1st day but no mention of "night" except that it is darkness.

Same goes for the 2nd - 6th days. No mention how long these days were, and evening and morning with no night!

So obviously it means more than just "day" as 24 hours. The bible is very deep. I pray you find a teacher of God's word.

Secondly - a gentleman speaking for his team's research into outerspace at NASA recently commented on his new found belief in Christ: "We searched the Universe for the answers to life on this planet... we climbed the mountain of scientific discovery and experimentation - only to reach the summit, peer over the top and find thousands of theologians have been camped out on the other side for centuries!"

Also:
"If I had no other data than the early chapters of Genesis, some of the Psalms and other passages of Scripture, I would have arrived at essentially the same picture of the origin of the universe, as is indicated by the scientific data." Nobel Prize-winning physicist Arno Penzias (Big Bang Theorist)

Lastly - a minister named T.W. Hunt recently spoke here in my town and related a letter he received from a Harvard professor who had guided a research team many years in searching for proof of evolution. Their experiments - instead - disproved the possibility of evolution over and over. He wrote Dr. Hunt a letter beginning with, "You now have a lab FULL of new believing Christians!"

Honor God - fear nothing in this world. Read the scriptures and understand that they are truly God's word. Serve Christ in all things and follow where He leads you dear one.

Ask the Lord Jesus to fill you with his truth, he will reveal his Truth to you. The Holy Spirit will teach you and guide you into all his Truth. Avoid questions that do not promote a closer walk with the Lord. Worldly knowledge comes from the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil . Eat the Bread of Life, Eat from the Tree of LIfe, even from Jesus Christ. Your life depends on it.

Do not seek counsel from science and history, Seek the Truth from God's Word. You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free. Listen to what the Spirit of God says to the churches. Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life. Don't complicate your understanding, Jesus says, "My burden is Light and my yoke is easy. It's not important to know everything now. It's more important to Love God and to Love others. Are you serving others? If you are not serving God then you are serving satans purpose.

"Walk by faith not by sight."

It's not important how we came to be, what is important, is where will we spend eternity.

Belief in Evolution and God can go hand in hand (like reason and faith).

Many believe that Genesis is more of a story than an actual play by play. The Bible is filled with parables, so this could be so with Genesis. Not everyone believes in the Bible as a literal document.

How can we understand all God's Wisdom?
here is our wisdom.... .

So whatever we don't understand about God.... be assured that there is a good reason.
Sometimes God allows us to see things through his eyes through dreams, but still we not understand His Knowledge- Wisdom IN THE TRUE MEANING of the dream, or not all the aspects.
I was in a Chapel once, and I asked God why so many people don't believe you and me..... God answer me as I put my hand on the Bible..... there was the answer. God spoke about when He freed the Jews, and when they were on their walk with Moses, how God done so many maricles in front of their eyes and still they not believe in Him- God.

God's presences intervene to me once and spoke to me telepatically.............. God is real, true, and the Bible, angels all that stuff is real. I have experienced God's presence, angels, and many good and one bad spirits. I have one appointed to me as she is very protective of me, and have save me many many times.
Please trust my experiences, and pray to God daily, and some day He will give you proof. Be open to all the ways that he communicates.... so many and to your spirit guide, he or she may hint at first that he or she is there for you. My guide or like -angel comes to me usually after prayer or when my spirit is not feeling very good.
I hope someday you understand..... God is using me to reach out, and some day he will use you to, once you learn all you need to do His purposes. I HAVE LEARNED THROUGH EXPERIENCES.
