he and i were a virtual one night stand that lasted a few months,then i became pregnant and he disappeared. he was 25 i was 18 now im 26. but he has always said that he should have taken me seriously and pursued a relationship with me but did not bc i was so young. now hes telling me he wants custody and i have 2 weeks to get ready to battle him and his lawyer in court (when i cant even afford a lawyer but do have a degree in criminal justice) when he hadn't seen his son in almost a year and has never been around consistently then pops up for a picnic this weekend. all of a sudden im an unfit mom and he wants custody, what do i do???????????????

Be smart? Really you know criminal justice but you can't tell this guy the strait truth? Really that doesn't make sense? Why did you give him the power to say ANYTHING about the kiddo, that just blows my mind. AS SOON as this guy show'd up at MY pinic I would of precieved to brow-beat that guy to no end, I WOULD HAVE THE TRUTH ON MY SIDE!!! So confront him, tell him, hey buddy I know you still love me, but you were a fool I've moved on, and as far as your son goes, you failed there two, and theres nothing you can do BUT WORK WITH ME, to make it right. Anything short of that brow-beat him about how immature he is. Nothing he is doing is fair and YOU should be able to use that against him, don't let him control you..... if you can't do that, well the justice system IS on your side, duh.... neglectful dads don't have rights... the truth is on your side.....
