Apparently not, Syria bought a lot of junk off the Soviet Un ... Oops, the Russians. They thought the Russian gear would detect and shoot down Israeli aircraft. Iran is in a panic because they bought the same junk. OpSec looks OK to me.
The Russians still make junk.

The thing with that is, the military channel and any other publication or communication media to the public can only disclose information that is deemed unclassified by the governement. Which means that it is information that any individual would be able to get without special clearance.
If the military channel didn't disclose information about the weapons, individuals still have other means to find out the same information about the same weapons.
The military channel just does it for ratings and entertainment.

It requires someone with a brain to do any reverse engineering. That leaves Arab and N. Korean scientist SOL.

My ATF was back in 1983 when "Old Mo" was parked off the coast of Lebanon as part of the peace keeping mission. There was a front page story with drawings showing how to sink it. These morons published a drawing showing the weakest point on the ship.

Genius has limits, stupidity does not.

The U.S. military likes to brag. When the F-117 was still top secret, the air force allowed a Soviet general to sit inside one.

Many of those weapon systems are either being out phased, sold on the open market or no longer in production.

One of my favorite stories is an elementary school student was taking to a rear admiral who was stationed on an aircraft carrier at the time. Although the admiral said the max. speed of the ship he was stationed on was top secret, the kid told him how fast the ship went. Obviously that information wasn't as top secret as the admiral thought it was.

Nope, what you have learned from them is only what they have deemed unclassified. Trust me, what you know isn't a drop in the bucket to what they really know and have.
