Cats only go into heat about twice a year and it lasts around 3 weeks each time. The cat should have been to a vet to be checked out and to be vaccinated so the vet should have told you then if she was spayed or not. You most likely thougth she was in heat but she wasn't.

No, nothing is wrong. Some cats just take time out from their cycles. Some will completely pause from late summer right through until January as this is what would happenin the wild.

However, your comments do beg the question- why on earth are you keeping a cat entire? It is rather cruel to not have her spayed and if you keep her entire and she keeps on coming into heat without being mated she will develop pyometra or polcycstic ovaries, or both. It can be very damaging to do this to a cat and closed pyometra can be fatal, killing a cat quite quickly.

In fact, come to think of it, a mild pyo, probably the open sort, could cause a cat to stop coming on heat and you might not notice this if she doesn't have much discharge or is very clean. But this sort of thing can quickly turn.

Please don't put her through all that and do the kind thing and get her spayed. Do not be ignorant enough to think that keeping her indoors will prevent her from the risks of being unspayed. Pregnancy is not the only risk.

Possibly. Maybe she has a uterine infection or some other problem with her reproductive system. How about doing her a favour by getting her spayed? Or at least taking her to a vet. You know by now that she isn't spayed, so what are you waiting for?

EDIT: Cats do not only go in to heat twice a year. They are in heat every couple of weeks from about february through to October. They can also become pregnant when not in heat since they are induced ovulators.

the vet will be able to tell if she has been spayed. so get her in and get her checked out and vaccinated and spay her if she hasn't been.
