Atheists claim to be more "intelligent" than christians, but both have the same habit of on average throwing away 250 pounds of trash a year each...
The most annoying thing are the hypocritical Atheists and Christians that love to tell you what you should do to make this world a better place... BUT THESE ARE THE SAME ******* THAT DRIVE HUMMERS, POUR GASOLINE INTO NEARBY STREAMS AND RIVERS, AND BURN OLD CAR TIRES TO WARM THEIR OWN FAT-A-S-S-E-S DURING THE WINTER...
WHY IS THAT???
Why does everyone else not care... as for the Christians I suppose they believe God will clean up their messes... so what's the Atheists excuse??? What about muslims, they don't care what they do to the environment... as long as they make a buck doing it!!!
Last but not least, why can't everybody just go to HELL???

You might want to rent the Penn & Teller show on the environment. It turns out that the idea of not having enough landfills is a fallacy made up by a government official who wanted more funds for his agency. It also turns out that processing a lot of materials to be recycled uses up more energy and is more costly than throwing it away and creating more material. It also turns out that the idea of having landfills being bad for the environment is another fallacy.
That doesn't mean that nothing should be done. Certainly global warming is real and we need to conserve more energy. But this has nothing to do with religion or spirituality. There is no reason why Atheists and Theists shold have different opinions on this matter. The fact that you think it should shows a lack of forethought on your part.
There actually is one area where the belief of atheists might come into play -- but it goes the other way. A recent report by scientists conjectored that microbes are likely to evolve to a point where they will eat plastic and break down all that trash that you think will be there forever. Christians who believe in creationism would never think that..
I do not fear for the Earth -- it will survive us.

A simple fact of life is that human beings cannot kill the Earth ;they are not capable of doing that .In the course of the past 4.5 billion years a lot of things have happened to this blue marble in black space that we all live on.The Earth is still here and will be here long after the humans that currently occupy it are long gone.
One becomes an environmentalist for purely selfish reasons.
"This is my home .This is where I live .To the best of my knowledge it is the only place in a huge universe that I know contains life .Therefor I don't s**t where I eat and I do my level best to pass on a clean and healthy home to future generations to liive in "
