The attorney now needs a secretary . There is every possibility that he may hire you provided you offer your services !!

Legal secretaries have specific knowledge, skills and experience that other secretaries don't. If you haven't been specifically trained to do legal secretarial work, then in all likelihood, he won't hire you for the secretary job. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask him, but I imagine that if he thought you were qualified to be a legal secretary he would have hired you for that job instead of the personal assistant job.

I'd ask him for a precise definition of "Personal Assistant" detailing my "duties, expectations, and requirements". You'll work for him on a trial basis for 60 days, then your contract (you do have one?) will be renegotiated including salary, title, benefits, and other considerations.

I found a beautiful "love it" job through Olsten Staffing. *oops, can I say that within Guidelines?*
