I see John Hagel and Jerry Falwell damning gay people to hell all the time but what about their own gluttony? Gluttony is on the list of seven deadlies, and being gay is only mentioned here and there in the old testament... and trust me these guys don't have a gland problem, they are 28-sandwhich eating, throat stuffing pig GLUTTONS.

No I don't think it's "just as bad". Of homosexuals it's written, "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." 1Cor 6:9,10 Nothing about people who overeat there.

Granted overeating is sin in that it is wasteful. But I doubt it will be judged to the same degree as sexual depravity. In fact wasn't Jesus himself called a glutton? "The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." Mt 11:15

For example it says, "In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire." Jude 1:7

So if you're into homosexuality, you've got enough to worry.

If the bible is to be taken literally, yes, you're right. Believers are taught that the body is the temple of God and it should be treated with great care and respect. However, it's easier for Hagee & Falwell to point the finger at other people with condemnation, instead of dealing with their hypocrisies. If they really believe what they preach, their judgment could be very interesting -- despite their "good works" and faith.

Ezekiel 16:49,50 shows that Sodom was destroyed for reasons other than the popular belief of it being due to gays:

"Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit."

the sole objective for sexual charm is to reproduce so as that we advance our reproductive and inclusive wellness. for this reason, we ought to consistently in basic terms have an interest in the different intercourse as 2 human beings from the comparable intercourse can't reproduce jointly. because of this, being gay is atypical and should no longer take place. that is one factor for a society to tolerate homosexuality, notwithstanding that is incorrect to permit issues like gay marriage which will sell homosexuality and make it look frequent while that is not. that is going to additionally injury the integrity of marriage - marriage must be solely between a guy and a woman. And so it particularly is our employer in spite of everything...

Just because your over weight dose not mean your a glutton, you can only eat 3 meals a day and still be over weight it depends on the things you eat. If I just ate a cheese burger three times a day I would be over weight especially if I don't exercise. A glutton is a person that eats huge amounts of food in one setting and then throws up and dose it all over again. The Romans were famous for doing this. That is gluttony. You don't no what your talking about. Our high processed foods are also making us fatter the American diet sucks.

There is no degree to sin. They all equal separation from God. So gluttony, adultry, stealing, bearing false witness, worshiping other gods are all as bad as participating in gay sex.

Just being gay isn't a sin.

being gay is mentioned more than just in the old testement it is in the new testement as well and yes being a glutton is a sin as well! sin is sin any way you look at it. and making fun of someones problem isn't nice either! you cannot justify any sin you can only repent which is to tell god and turn away from it wether it be overeating or being gay.

You have a valid point, but I think homosexual problems are still worse in God's eyes than gluttony.

1 Cor 6:18 Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.

My town in Mississippi has exceeded its legal weight limit due to morbidly obese pastors. I don't have to see Hagee or the other future liposuction clients to know.

If you think christianity is based on televangelists, you're looking in the wrong direction. These people use the name of God to get rich, that's it. Sin is sin, we're all sinners, the trick for salvation is to repent (honestly) and try not to commit that sin anymore, regardless of what that sin is.
