Stowe should have some decent snow during the Christmas-New Years holiday period. However, expect some longer lift lines as many NYC skiers will be on slopes as well as lots of vacationing skiers. I'd opt for either Killington or maybe some of smaller Vermont resorts for better holiday skiing. Bromley is usually good as well as it's next door neighbor Stratton which will have as good or better night time activities.

Ummm...Killington, Okemo, and Stratton are just as crowded as Stowe during the holiday season. (Trust me, I lived near all of them and still kind of have teaching privliges at Killington.)

The good news is all of them are usually only crowded near the base areas and they usually have almost all of the lifts running...Stowe too.

Snow Quality will vary greatly. There is no guarantee that any resort will get a pre-Christmas pounding, but as long as it's cold there will be snow.
