um.. i woke up on saterday, with my glands bothering me. Its been a few days and my glads are still alittle enlarged and my left side hurts alittle.

After going to the doctor, they said it might be mono, but i dont want to do a blood test.

What do you think? mono or something else. I was tested for strept and it was negative.

There really isnt anything else wrong, no head aches, high temps, problems with my throat, etc..

So what do you think, is there anyway to know without blood test. as i hate needels.

Hey Chris! Be a big boy darnit!!! You tend to your fish when they're sick, now tend to yourself! Honestly, I had it when I was a sophomore in high school. The only 2 symptoms I had were swollen gland (only 1 side) and I was extremely tired. Everyone can have different symptoms. BUT I will tell you this much. I went back to school too early and relapsed and wound up in the hospital with an enlarged spleen. You do NOT want this to happen, because you will wish you had had the blood test done. This can KILL you if you have it and don't take care of yourself. That's how serious it is. One needle can save you 2 weeks in the hospital (that's how long I was in for and I DID have the blood test)!

The blood test is 1 poke. Shut your darn eyes and hold your breathe. POOF it will be done and you'll have your answer, rather then finding out the hard way. Please do this?? We need you in YA Fish section and if you're sick you won't be able to help us!!

You'll be fine. If I was closer, I'd come hold your hand. But you can do it, I know it!!

Good luck Chris, I sure hope you're feeling better soon!!!

;o) Trish ;o)

You should take the blood test.
Try not to think about the needle as it really doesn't hurt. I've been in hospital recently and they took a blood test almost everyday. It is over almost before you know it and you will probably wonder why you were so worried.
Good luck

p.s it does sounds a bit like mono.

It's probably Mono. When I had mono, they thought it was strep because I had a history of getting it a lot and it felt the exact same. Just be glad they didn't assume. When I had it, they gave me strep meds which reacted w/ the mono and gave me a rash that didn't go away for a month.

Oh also, I passionately hate needles. I squirm at the very thought. It really wasn't so bad, just tell them, and they'll make it quick and be nice to you.

If you hate needles so much go back to your doctor and get a script for Emla cream which you can put on you skin before the needle and it numbs it so you don't feel the pain. To detect Mono you really need a blood test.

Suck it up and get the blood test,if it is Mononucleosis you should know for sure to avoid handing it off to someone else.
If it isn't then you need to know just what is bothering you.Swollen Glands mean there is some sort of infection, get it treated for your own sake.
