You were ticketed, not them, so it's your signature. But don't even think about hiding it from them- they'll be pissed when they get the bill from the insurance company. A grown up fesses up to their mistakes, so here's an opportunity to show your folks that you are indeed grown up enough to drive a car. Good luck!

How do you mail it in unsigned? They need to know who sent it and the ticket should be enclosed. The insurance company will let your parents know.
