I only downloaded Microsoft Word 2007 to my laptop. I want to get rid of it and go back to the 2003 version. Do I have to uninstall 2007 and then reinstall 2003, or will just removing 2007 automatically return me to 2003?

I bought Office through my school, so it's the actual version of 2007, not the trial.

I am going to assume that you downloaded the time limited demo and it has now run out. I have done this and it appeared that it had returned to the previous version however there were many problems - not least relating to file associations but not just that. Eventually I did a complete office repair which required that I had my original office 2003 disk.

If you can't get a version of Microsoft Office then you could try other programs like LibreOffice. LibreOffice is free and works with Windows 8 although it has more in common with how Office 2003 looks than 2007 or above. :)

yes
if you go to control panel and then click on the change or remove button. if you change/modify it you can take word 2007 off the computer but still have it installed. once that is done. then you have to modify the office 2003, and then tick the boxes and then next and it will configure it and it will install the application.

Word/Office 2007 is alot easier to use and quicker if you know all the shortcuts. i would keep it for a while.

also you will have some files in the new format so you need to download a pack, so that 2003 can read you 2007 files.

You would have to uninstall 2007 then reinstall 2003.

Maybe you should give Word 2007 a chance. At first glance I thought it was a pain, but as I spend a little more time with it, I don't find it so scary.

If you didn't install office 03 at all, it won't go back to 03. But u need to uninstall 07 first than allowed to install 03 version. Yes i was planning to uninstall too 07 too complex to use, but i got used to it now.
