I am 60 years old, I would not hesitate to give way to a pregnant lady. Ill manners unfortunately a part of everyday life today, on a 'bus last week, a young lady boarded, she was evidently well advanced in pregnancy. on the 'bus were children sitting next to their parents, I was astounded, not one parent told their child to stand up, I gave the lady my seat. I'm the old days ,if children payed reduced fare they had to give up a seat for an adult. I suppose that this rule has gone the way of other good rules. lastly. may I apologise to all the pregnant ladies and indeed, all the older people who have been inconvenienced by ignorant people of all ages !

A pregnant woman should always give her seat up for the elderly.. Even at 9 months I would never remain sitting when an elderly man or woman was standing.. I was raised better than that and so were my children.. Even my 6 year old knows that she is to always offer her seat to her elders.. and if they forget, I remind them as would the teenage boy on the bus.

With some women becoming pregnant in their sixties the old person might also be pregnant, but a young pregnant woman is probably much stronger than an average old person, though it depends on what you mean by old.

I think whoever is healthier! Even when I was 8 months pregnant, I felt healthy as a horse and would give up a seat to an elderly person. I certainly got a little peeved when teenagers or kids wouldn't, though!

It depends who is in the most need. Just because someone is old doesn't mean they are frail and ill. Equally just because someone is only pregnant which isn't an illness doesn't mean that they can't be ill too.
An old person in good health should be prepared to give up their seat to a pregnant woman who looks like she is about to keel over. A pregnant woman in good health should be prepared to give up their seat to an old person who looks as if they are about to keel over.
If both are in equal need I would suggest somebody else should be giving up their seat so they can both sit down.

Men should always give way to women, but when 2 women or 2 men, they both should.

Old people should give way to pregnant ladies. They're carrying new life that is still vulnerable. Old people are more frail, but I still think they have less to lose.
