They start dying the moment they're born - just like people.
But the average lifespan of a pit bull - barring any major illness/accident etc. is about 13 - 16 years.

When do they grow? They normally stop growing around 2, they hit full maturity at about that time. They're late bloomers like labs are :)
Start dying? Depends on how well you take care of your dog... could be a few years with shoddy care, and 15+ years with good care.

They live to be around 12 yrs old. Dogs are considered puppies till they are around a year old and takes them 2 yrs to get their skeletal and muscle system fully developed.

They fully mature anywhere between 1 and 3 years, and they have been known to live about 12-16 years. They're pretty healthy dogs.

It really depends. Most large breed dogs live into their mid teens or so. Some don't. It depends on different issues such is medical care and heaven forbid a issue such as cancers or so on. But with they proper love and care they can live to around 14 or 15 and even beyond.

In animal shelters...not very long at all, for the most part...

12-15 yrs is the average mine made it to 11 and I miss him something awful.. lol
