2 week old puppy got messy poop over the back of his sister. Should I clean her off with a damp washcloth or leave it to the mama to clean? So far she hasn't cleaned it eventhough she usually licks up any poop the puppies make. Sorry for the nasty nature of this question but I do need advice.

I don't know the answer to this question as I have no experience with a litter of puppies. I would guess clean her, but do it with a damp cloth in full view of mummy-dog. But I just wanted to say that it is a valid question and some people have not been very kind with their answers.

Certainly clean the puppy - use a wet washcloth and get the poop off her, won't hurt her or upset the mother dog.

I would definitely clean the puppy off. I wouldn't like having someone else's poop all over me.

Yes, of course you have to clean the puppy, unless you want to smell puppy poop all day and night!

Please clean the dog. The poor thing would be smelling like poop all the time if you didn't. The momma can only do so much with many puppies.

I clean the poor child up just with a damp cloth or even the baby butt wipes would be good and then wipe off with a wet towel to take off residue !
Please clean up the poor thing !

Yes please clean the pup up! Use a damp warm wash cloth and get the poop off the pup for heaven sake! Mom will appreciate it so will the pup!
