I've had 2 concussions and it certainly makes your emotions go awry, and it can last a long time before recovering. And there are cases where there is no recovery, you have to learn new skills to replace what was lost. good luck to your friend. just be patience and let him work out the difficulties, i.e. speech, angry or frustration, forgetting. tell him when you see improvement and encourage him to keep trying to find the person that he was.

Yup. Absolutely. I've seen a number of people with different reactions due to brain damage of some sort with a concussion... it doesn't have to be life threatening to hurt the old grey matter. Just shaking it hard can do it. One of them lost short term memory. It was hard getting him to accept it, now we all understand and just roll with it when he forgets. But it absolutely can scramble things. But a lot of times it's temporary. Ask his family. The doctors may have told them but he is not accepting it and thus not telling anyone. Who wants to say "Hey! My brain was damaged!"?

Absolutely. A head injury can cause things like that.

I hope he has seen a doctor about this. It might be temporary or permanent depending on how badly he was injured.
